Happy National Coffee Day!

While we know there is a holiday for everything, today is an especially important one. The reason being is that coffee makes the world go round. Coffee is the hero without the cape. While some may not think coffee expenses mean much, there is a reason the coffee scenario is always brought up when discussing the topic of budget and spending habits.

We often tend to reexamine our spending habits in order to save money. Often times, coffee expenses are not an option, they are necessary. Without a pumpkin spice latte before work, you may not make it!
A study done by Amerisleep allowed 1,008 participants to give feedback on their coffee habits. 26% of respondents said they drink coffee for energy, while almost 43% said it was for the taste! This is significant because it shows that most Americans are now willing to spend more on tasty coffee, rather than utilize drip coffee from home or work.

Americans drinking a daily cup of coffee is at the highest level since 2012, with 64% of Americans over 18 saying they had at least one cup of coffee the day before.

In 2015, consumers spent $74.2 billion on coffee. The coffee industry generates almost $28 billion in taxes.
